Two great team line ups for England. The Ladies all now seasoned internationals and joined by a UK Tenpin Hall of Famer in Jo Cundy. The Men’s is a flashback to the 90’s Young Adults Club with Chris West and Andrew Tapping joining Matt Trotter and Colin Grose in a senior reunion and joined by the BTBA Bossman himself Geoff Brown to keep the youngsters in check.
Thursday is travel day and practice followed by the Managers meeting with play starting on Friday with the doubles.
Friday
Ladies Doubles
The ladies were first up on Friday for the Doubles and we started the day with a fantastic Silver from Gaye McCully and Jo Cundy as Wales took Gold and Bronze to Ireland.
Men’s Doubles
Next up on Friday were the Men to complete the doubles and Gold for Chris West and Andrew Tapping with Silver fgoing to Geoff Brown and Matthew Trotter.
Ladies Singles
Friday completed with the ladies Singles and Gaye McCully topping our team england lists with 741 over the four game block. Sally with 731 and Jo with 722. Jan fought back from 147 and 127 to fire 190 and 233 for 697 as Carole rolled 657 and Marsha with 643.
Saturday
Men’s Singles
Saturday started with the Men completing the four games of singles and Gold and Silver for England as Matt Trotter rolled games of 219,246,208 and 265 for 938 with Darren Cundy taking silver with 908 including a final game of 268. Andrew Tapping ending with a good 839 with Colin Grose almost par with 798. Chris West fighting back after a 134 with 230,204 and 206 for 774 and Geoff Brown finishing with 702.
Ladies Trios
Gaye, Sally and Jo made up one team and Marsha, Carole the other in this Trios round at STC2026. Jo Cundy the pick of the senior pops with 244 and 195 early on and Marsha going well with 211 and 200. Jo ending with an 807 and team series of 2272 for Silver with Gaye on 723 and Sally with 742. Marsha tops in the second team with 769, Jan with 735 and Carole with 648 for an overall of 2152 and Bronze.
Men’s Trios
Saturday had a revised ending as the Men rolled two games of the Trios and would be back on Sunday for the final two games. Darren Cundy flying with games of 244 and 235, Matt Trotter with 232 and 218 and Colin Grose with 161 and 203. Team 2 saw Geoff Brown with 202 and 203, Chris West with 202 and 234 and Andrew Tapping with 160 and 227. Into Sunday morning and Darren still going well with 244 and 201 for a fine 924 as Matt added 195 and 246 for 891, Colin with 204 and 207 for 775 and overall of 2590 and good enough for Gold. Geoff with 743, Chris on 838 and Andrew with 856 gave them 2437 and Silver.
Mixed Doubles
Sunday continued with the Mixed Doubles in the morning, Geoff Brown and Carole Orange and Chris West and Jan Hodge up for Team England. Jan with 124,164,159 and 155 for 602 and Chris with 192,197,139 and 158 for 686 and overall of 1292. Geoff with games of 187,191,193 and 223 for 794 as Carole added 190,145,156 and 127 fr 618 and overall of 1412 and grabbing a cool Silver medal.
Team
As our ladies were struggling to get the 200 games our Men were Swimming in them over the first three games. Darren with 238,199,255, Andrew with 195,253,244, Colin with 236,157,239 and Matthew with 194,224 and 161 and fighting for the Gold spot. The adies also fighting for a medal and Gaye with 163,174 and 202 as Marsha hit 190,191 and 188. Sally with 192,180 and 177 and Jo with 195,189 and 182. Final game saw Gaye with 149 and 688, Marsha with 166 and 735, Sally with 184 and 733 and Jo with 183 and 749 for an overall of 2905 and a super Silver medal.
Darren ending with 225 and a fine 917 as Andrew hit 218 and an equally fine 910. Colin blitzed a 247 and 879 and Mattew with 192 and 771 for 3477 and Gold.
All Events
A fantastic 1-2-3 in the Mens event as Darren Cundy took Gold, Andrew Tapping with Silver and Matthew Trotter with Bronze. In the ladies a super Bronze for Jo Cundy.
