Yorkshire Men & Yorkshire Women are the Open Inter County Champions for 2024! (ICC2024)

As Day 1, Saturday, drew to a close, Yorkshire, Dorset and Somerset & Gloucester were heading the men, with Dorset 126 behind and Somerset & Gloucester 214 behind, and Yorkshire, Dorset and Northamptonshire the women, -293 and -296 respectively.

During Day 2, Sunday there were frequent changes in the top-3’s although Yorkshire had securely fastened themselves to the top places in both divisions. After 9 games though it was Yorkshire, Warwickshire (-122) and Dorset (-198) for the men and Yorkshire, Surrey (-680) and Dorset (-720) for the women.

PREVIOUSLY

Following the Qualifying Rounds at the start of September this year, this weekend see’s the Finals of the Open Inter County Championships for 2024 take place at Acocks Green Bowl, Birmingham.

Qualifying teams (both men & women/ladies) were determined at Airport Bowl (south), Stroud Bowl (central) and Atlantic Bowl (north):

“For the men the top 3 teams in all regions, plus last year’s winning team Warwickshire, will qualify. For the women the top 5 teams in the southern region will qualify, the top 2 teams plus last years winners Northamptonshire from central region will qualify, and the top 2 teams from the northern region will qualify.”

Men – Dorset, Sussex & Middlesex
Women – Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, Dorset & Essex

Central Qualifying Group:
Men – Warwickshire, Somerset & Gloucestershire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire
Women – Northamptonshire, Warwickshire & Bedfordshire

North Qualifying Group:
Men – Durham, Yorkshire & Lancashire
Women – Lincolnshire & Yorkshire
