67 senior men and 31 senior women competed at Romford Bowl, Essex in Stop 5 of the 2024 Tenpintour.
Senior Men – Mark Wills bowled a 6 game set of all ’above par’ games for a winning total of 1,510 (1,342 scr. / 168 hcap / 224 avg.) and first place. Hot on his heels however was Andrew Tapping in second with 1,487 (1,379 / 108 / 230) with only 1 game shy of par, but still a fabulous 197. Third place, also with a complete set of above par games was Chris West on 1,461 (1,395 / 66 / 233). Alan Keddie took 4th with 1,453 (1,411 / 42 / 235) and Jonathan Herbert 5th with 1,440 (1,326 / 114 / 221). Herbert also took the high mens game with a sparkling 290 in game 5.
Senior Women – Jan Hodge & Tracy Van Dyk both shared top honours for the senior women with 1,273. Hodge posted 3 above par games in her set of 1,273 (1,213 / 60 / 202) and Van Dyk 1,273 (1,093 / 180 / 182). Third place went to Tina Taylor with 1,260 (1,002 / 258 / 167), Sally Anne Webb took 4th with 1,231 (1,027 / 204 / 171) and 5th was Sandra Boswell with 1,217 (1,037 / 180 / 174). High women’s game whet to both Boswell and Teresa McCarthy, who posted games of 234 each for game 3!
