The 2022 BTBA Annual Awards completed at Guildford Spectrum on 5-6 November 2022.

The winners were:

CHAIRMAN’S AWARD – LEE CHATFIELD

VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR – CRAIG ELLIS

OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR – DAVE STEINER

“Whilst the winner is the Company Secretary, his dedication beyond simply supporting just about anything he is asked to help with, over many years, is enormous:

“BTBA Nationals Tournament Manager for many years, Tournament Manager for many if not all Senior TPT events, Stood in at short notice as Tournament Manger for the ICC Southern Qualifying Round to allow Jo to participate, voluntarily delivering trophies to the Triple Crown in Bromborough from Surrey at the drop of a hat because they had been overlooked!

“The winner of Official of the Year is Dave Steiner”.

Over the past 2 years Dominic has won the PBA triple crown (US Open, The PBA Masters and the Tournament of Champions) he has also flown the flag at the World Championships and lead the European Team to victory at the Weber Cup.

He won the PBA Triple Crown and returns home here in the UK to his family. He sets an example that you can reach your dreams whilst still coming back home here in the UK.

FEMALE BOWLER OF THE YEAR – VERITY CRAWLEY

2021 PWBA winner in Nashville
3 x PWBA runner up
Several TV appearances

Winning the first ever PWBA event by an English bowler. Also, some incredible finishes at other PWBA events where she always clearly states her pride at coming from England.

Outstanding performance in the last 3 years on the PWBA tour and won her first title. No other explanation needed.

TEAM OF THE YEAR – KIM OAKLEY & GAYE McCULLY

  1. The Senior Triple CrownTeam 2022
  2. The Senior European Women’s Championship Doubles silver medallists
  3. The Senior European Women’s Championship Ladies Team

“The recipients of this award were winners of the Silver medal in the very first Senior European Championships held in Vienna 2020, against strong competition and set the tone for the rest of the Senior Squad to follow. Their energy and teamwork was exemplary and set the bar at a height that others had to raise their game to compete.”

“The winners are Kim Oakley and Gaye McCully”.

MALE SENIOR BOWLER OF THE YEAR – STEVEN JEEVES

“The recipient of this award won many ISBT tournaments as well as tournaments in England, far the best senior bowler over the last few years.  These included 2019 Senior Malta Open Winner, 2021 Senior TE qualifier winner Stroud, Senior Gibraltar Open winner, BTBA doubles winner Stroud, 2022 Senior Triple Crown All Events winner, Senior Singles winner at Stroud, BTBA Senior Nationals All Events at Mansfield & 2 x ISBT wins including Dutch Senior Opens.

“Great competitor and team member, always encouraging others and wanting team members to do well. Makes everyone in the team feel at ease. He dedicates himself to the sport and is a true gentleman on and off the lanes. He truly deserves this award based on his tournament success and for growing the sport in the UK.”

“The winner with 10 of the 11 County votes received is Steven Jeeves”.

FEMALE SENIOR BOWLER OF THE YEAR – ANGIE BROWN

“The recipient of this award won many tournaments, both in Europe and in England, including the 2019 ​Senior Scottish Open, Senior Team England Trials, International Seniors Bowling Tour Order of Merit, 2021​ ​Tenpin Tour Millbrook, Senior Team England Trials, Kings Bowl Gibralter Mixed Doubles Winner, 2022​ ​BTBA Adult Nationals Singles, Senior Triple Crown (4 Gold, 1 Silver & 1 Bronze), Alsace Senior Open France, Tenpin Tour Airport, British Ladies Bowling Tour Stroud & Senior Team England Trials.
