BTBA Tenpintour 2026 Stop 4 Acocks Green

Note:  The Tenpintour is a Seniors tour with handicap scores.  Total Scores & Total Pinfalls quoted below are inclusive of handicap, however the averages are event averages and are therefore scratch.

Stop 4 of the BTBA Tenpintour 2026 took place at Acocks Green Bowl on 25 & 26 April 2026.  A total of 79 senior bowlers, comprising 58 men and 21 women took part this month.

Men –  Gary Baker ‘stormed out of the gate’ this month carding a full-set of 6 honor scores for a 1st place 1,329 scr. +156 hcp. 1,485 / 222 avg. event total, his second TPT victory, which he topped with high games of 226, 224 and 247.  However that wasn’t enough to also take the men’s high scratch total of 1,357, which went to Alan Meades who only ‘faltered’ the one time in Game 2 with a 193 game, finishing in 2nd place on 1,357 + 108 = 1,465 / 226 event total.  Meades lowest honor game was 223!  3rd place went to Tolworth’s Dave Thornton with 2 honors in his 1,083 + 306 = 1,389 / 381 total, 4th to Darren Harding with a 200 high game in his 1,021 + 360 = 1,381 / 170 finish and 5th place saw ‘the boss’ Chris Skudder with 3 honors in his 1,142 + 234 =1,376 1,376 / 190 total.

The mens high game was shot by Sukky Gill in game 1 with a 265 and the mens high scratch series was Alan Meades’ 1,357.

Women – Liz Eyre recorded her seventh TPT win, and consecutive wins to boot this season, when she won this Acocks Green first visit this year.  A steady 949 scr. + 246 hcp. =1,195 / 158 avg. was enough to finish 4 pins clear of 2nd placed Tina Connop’s 855 + 336 = 1,191 / 143 and 16 points ahead of 3rd placed Tina Taylor with 891 + 288 = 1,179 / 149.  The leading women’s honor score went to Bev Smithery, 4th, with an opening 222 game, also the women’s high game, within her set totaling 1,008 + 168 / 168 and in 5th we saw Tracy Van Dyk with 1028 + 244 = 1,172 /171.  Lynn Gammage and Carol Brock completed the set of four honor scores with 2216 and 215 respectively.

The women’s high game was shot by Bev Smitheram in game ,1 with a 222 and the women’s high scratch series  was shot by Jan Hodge with 1,049.
