Note: The Tenpintour is a Seniors tour with handicap scores. Total Scores/Total Pinfalls quoted below are inclusive of handicap, however the averages are tournament averages and are scratch.
Stop 4 of the BTBA Tenpintour 2025 took place at Acocks Green Bowl in Birmingham on 30, 31 May and 1 June 2025. A total of 95 senior bowlers, comprising 71 Men and 24 Women took place in this months competition.
Men – Richard Parker – opening with 221 & 237, then adding a Game 5 237 would help propel Parker into 1st place with a total of 1,234 scr. + 306 hcap. = 1,540 total / 206 avg. in 2nd was Peter Fyles who closed with 4 games of (220, 202, 215 & 237 for 1,231 / +282 = 1,513 / 205 and 3rd was Mike Sykes, with 4 honour scores of 209, 219, 233, 248 & 215 to record 1,291 / + 216 = 1,507 / 215. In 4th we found Adam Woodyatt with a centre trio of 221, 226 & 279 in his 1,286 / +210 = 1,496 / 214 and 5th Greg Turvey with a back four set of 224, 226, 225, 258 & 238 for 1,353 / +126 = 1,478 / 225.
With several ‘super-high’ games exceeding 250, it was Tenpintour regular Alan Meades, who recorded the men’s Hi Game on 289 ig Game 5 of his 1,272 / +60 = 1,332 / 212 set.
Women – Carole Orange – opening with 220 and closing with the women’s equal high game of 224, Orange cruised steadily through her competition this week taking 1st with 1,131 scr. / + 162 hcap. = 1,293 total / 189 avg. 2nd place was secured by Manel Hannan with a high game of 194 in her set of 971 / + 306 = 3.173 1,277 / 162 and 3rd place went to Anna Yang with a high game of 190 in her set of 1,106 / +150 = 1,256 / 184. 4th was Mary Mault, saving her very best until last, with a 208 game in her 1,089 / + 156 = 1,245 / 182 and in 5th was Debbie Law, who finished Game 5 with the equal women’s high game of 224 in her 1,055 / +180 = 1,235 / 176 scorecard.
