“..the doors are open..”
After a very positive meeting with Pete Terry, who’s Disco Bowl now boasts 13 Bowling centres, I am pleased to say that league and tournament bowlers are welcome at ‘The Green’. In Pete’s words “..the doors are open“ to league and tournament bowling in all Disco Bowl centres.
This is a very positive stance and great for sport bowling. Any sensible proposal will be well received.
Thank you,

Having seen the many on-line comments about Acocks Green, I feel the need to say something.
I have been in conversation with Pete Terry for a few days about Disco Bowls acquisition of ‘the Green’. Our conversations have been very positive with regard to league and tournament bowling.
“Things will continue as per normal at the moment and although we can anticipate changes we must remain positive…”
I can say, that we will not see pin strings any time soon and as long as we maintain a good relationship with the bowl owner, we should be able to have meaningful two-way dialogue about any issues that might arise.
Some of the on-line comments to the owner have been very positive and measured which is very helpful and I thank you for these.
I am however appalled at comments that are very disrespectful and not becoming of league bowlers. These are very counter-productive when trying to establish a good working relationship with the proprietors.
I do understand people’s concerns and it highlights the strong bowling community at the Green, but I urge everyone to remain calm and wait until we have some facts to discuss. Please maintain a respectful approach.
