Note: The Tenpintour is a Seniors tour with handicap scores. Total Scores/Total Pinfalls quoted below are inclusive of handicap, however the averages are tournament averages and are scratch.
Stop 2 of the 2025 Tenpintour took place at GOBowling Dunstable on the 1 & 2 March 2025. 78 Senior Men and 33 Senior Women took to the lanes for the regular six games. The winners of both male & female divisions were found from the total handicap scores.
Men – Barry Collins topped the men’s table with 1,191 scr. + 312 hcap = 1,503 total which included two ‘honour scores’ (scratch 200 or over) of 234 and 215. This was also Barry’s second tenpintour win! Gary Baker took second place with 1,354 + 144 =1,498, 5 of which games were honour scores and included a 267 and 226 event average. This however was just not quite enough to take the event high game – more to follow). In third, Ken Iredale had 4 honour games in his 1,210 + 258 = 1,468 total with a high game of 235 and 202 event average, fourth was Philip Long with a trio of honour score in his 1,191 + 276 = 1,467 total but he also took the men’s High Game with his 268 in game 3 – well done Phillip! Finally, in fifth, was Philip Cox with 1,107 + 342 = 1,449 including 3 honour scores.
Women – Catherine Wills has made the Tenpintour records book, with winning this, her eigth Tenpintour title! Whilst also securing the women’s high game this stop with a 245 in game 4, Catherine followed with games of 224 and 223 for her 1,260 scr. + 102 hcap. = 1,362 total. Second place saw Carol Brock card games of 227 & 228 in the middle of her 1,132 + 126 = 1,258 total, and third place saw Carole Orange starting with an honour 204 in her set of 1,084 + 168 = 1,252. Fourth place went to Elaine Davey with 1,094 + 156 = 1,250 including a 217 in game 2 and fifth wentoto both Debbie Payne anLynne Gammage, with 857 + 378 = 1,235 and 1,103 +132 = 1,235 respectively. Lynee included to honour game ‘bookends’ with 212 and 211.
