So what exactly is National Bowling Day?
The sport arrived on our shores in the 1960’s and from time to time UK Tenpin bowling proprietors members tried a National bowling day.
It was not until 2011 an official one took shape in the USA and the second week in August would have a special day.
The day was first sponsored in the US by the Bowling Proprietor’s Association of America, Inc., with the intention of increasing awareness and participation in the game.
National Bowling Day is now celebrated annually and it continues to gain traction as people all around the US, and now the world, are ready to spend some time bowling and enjoying the day!
It’s simply a day to celebrate the sport. Some in the UK have offers to enjoy on this day, some people bowl for the first time on seeing these offers.
There are no set rules, we all love the sport so enjoy the day by going bowling, treat yourself to a new ball or catch up on the latest bowling videos online, the choice is yours.
