England’s Sophie Thompson added a silver to her medal haul at the European Youth Championships in Aalborg.
Sophie started her singles block with a blistering 252-249, for a total of 1313 (218.8 average) for her six games, to finish third in qualifying. She defeated Denmark’s Cecilie Dam in the semi final with 215-192 to proceed to play Hanna Engberg of Sweden in the final.
Hanna ran out the winner in the final match, defeating Sophie 211-180.
Sophie also finished 4th in the Girls All Events, earning a bye to round 2 of the Masters. Elyse Giddens rounded out the top 8, also earning herself a bye to round 2. Elsewhere, Issy Allen finished 21st and will take to the lanes for round 1 tomorrow morning. Lucy Williams finished in 30th, missing out on the Masters by just 28 pins.
