For beginners and experienced coaches alike, we start with the Coaching Pathway, a guide to the levels of qualifications available from very basic steps to international recognition. It also includes an overview of the pathway journey for players, from leisure bowlers to clubs, to County, to Team England, to Professional, environments, and more. Coaching Assistant

                    Foundation Coach

                                        Development Coach

                                                            Performance Coach

The progression for people that want to be involved in coaching starts with the Coaching Assistant. This level replaces the Fundamentals qualification which has often been misunderstood. It was developed to encourage people to assist at their local YBC’s, working with brand new bowlers and helping them develop rudimentary swing and balance techniques. It does not provide sufficient information for them to develop people to any more than a very basic standard. So, unless these coaches are only going to work with beginners, as their students develop, they will need a much broader understanding of the skills required which will achieved through our existing EBF qualifications program.

Coaching Code of Practice available by (Coaches Code of Practice)

Coaches, leaders, and instructors play a critical role in the development of any sport or activity, and in the lives of the people they coach. Good coaches ensure participants have positive experiences, so they are more likely to continue and achieve their potential.

Coaches must demonstrate a high degree of honesty, integrity, and competence. The need for coaches to understand and act on their responsibilities is vital to our sport, as is the need to promote participation for fun and enjoyment, as well as achievement.

The UK Coaching Code of Practice for Sports Coaches defines all that is best in coaching practice, and we use this as a guide for our coaches. It covers Rights; Relationships; Personal Standards; Professional Standards

Renewal of your Coaching licence will signify your acceptance of the Code of Practice
