Day 2 and our girls sitting in 3rd place overnight and 27 pins inside the top four that would advance. A long way to go yet, three games in fact and looking good early on with all playing well and rolling strikes but a few unforced errors, Ava though was doing Ava things and opened with the front seven. Jasmine rolling a couple of important doubles for 202, Ruby with 150, Ava awesome with 264 and eleven strikes overall. Chloe with a great comeback at the end with a turkey for 177 and team game of 793 and into fourth but a good 80 or so pins infront of chasing Finland in 5th.
Chloe took over striking in game five firing a five in a row as Jasmine and Ava going well. A good lead off 212 for Jasmine, a much improved 202 for Ruby, 225 for Ava and 217 for Chloe and a great 456. That fifth game taking our girls up to second overall and 65 pins ahead fourth and 100 ahead of fifth.
The final game was always going to be a nervous affair and strikes were fewer but important spares being made. Jasmine and Ruby closed into the eighth but Ava hitting splitsville four frames in a row and a couple of hiccups for Chloe.  Jasmine ending with 191 and 1187, Ruby with 208 for 1130. But for a split near the end, Jayden was going well with a fourbagger and ending with 205 as Cameron added 172 and Ben with 176. Keiran had an interesting a game and closed through the first six frames be it two of those were one spare!! He fought well though to record 172 including a split open. A team game of 725.
Game five saw some flashes of potential but pegged back by a few unforced errors. Jayden struggling with splits to a 163. Cameron after a shakey start coming good at the end with a double and 151. Finally Keiran finishing with 165 for 1088. A final team game of 647 and overall of 4320.
Team Finals
One thing for certain, we were going home with a medal. A semi final against the top seed Swedes was not an easy ask of our young lionesses though and to get more than Bronze would be tough. Sweden also would be wary of this young England side and a history of matches at EYC over the years. Jasmine, Ruby, Ava and Chloe all up for this one.
Jasmine, Ruby and Ava all striking in the first frame as Chloe opened but two opens from four from Sweden. Sedcond frame and spares for Jasmine, Ruby and Ava but another open for Chloe as Sweden closed three and opened once. Sweden find their feet now and a first double for Lova Nilsson but open for Elissa Mehmet. Open frames on the England side for Ruby and Ava and Sweden with a slight lead over four frames. Jasmine on strike in the fifth but an open from Ruby as Sweden’s Elin Bergqvist doubled and Mehmet pocket seven ten. Ava with a spare and Chloe on strike but Sweden also double from Saga Johansson.
The Swedes pulling away now with a turkey from Bergqvist and split from Jasmine.  Both teams with unforced errors now and two opens from Sweden and England, Ava sparing and Chloe split opening. This was not going to be a high scoring affair but first team to string some strikes could be advancing.  Not many strikes here and Ava grabbing one as Sweden grabbed two. and an open for each team.  Frame seven and Ava with an important double as Jasmine struck, Ruby and Chloe sparing but Sweden all closed and with two active strikes.
Split for Jasmine in the Eighth and double for lead off Elin Bergqvist and this one was slipping further away. A double from Lova Nilsson only adding up the pins more. Sweden all strikes in the eighth and an open from Ava with a spare from Ruby and open from Chloe. Jasmine with one last inspiring strike in the ninth to try start a late comeback but reality must set in and we were heading for a fantastic Bronze medal as Sweden’s Lova Nilsson hit a turkey in the ninth. Jasmine delighting the watching supporters with a double in the tenth for 181, Ruby with 149, Ava with 170 and Chloe with a double at the end for 157 and team game of 657 and Sweden with 785.

Masters
Round of 16
The final day of EYC and we got two into the Masters. Ava Andrade in 9th and Chloe Birch in 15th advancing. Ava was up against Norway’s Madalene Thorsrudhagen Danielsson and Chloe against Germany’s Fiona Lindemann. No easy matches from here on in but given Ava’s adventures this week with big games and Chloe not actually showing full potential yet, Norway and Germany could be in for a shock.
A late withdraw from Germany and Chloe had a bye to step 2 but Ava was still in the thick of it against Norway. Chloe would still bowl and record scores. Ava opening with a strike spare strike as Norway opened but then doubled. Ava then hit her own double as Norway spared. Split open for Norway in the fifth frame as Ava’s run of strikes ending with a spare and 24 pins up. A single pin miss and open in the seventh for Ava as Norway spared and the gap closing. The lead down to 14 pins but Madalene not striking and Ava holding on and striking in the ninth frame. A strike and 9 count for Norway and 177 and Ava with a five split 2 count for 177 tie. Ava with two strong strikes to strike nine for Norway and she was one up.
Game two and both opening with spare and a strike. Ava making it a double then spare as Norway spared and struck. Norway coming back now with a double in the fifth frame as Ava struck then doubled but so did Norway for a turkey and two pins ahead.  Strike for Norway in the eighth and open from Ava and this one looking to go to three games. All spares in the ninth and Norway with a 14 pin lead. Strike for Norway, Strike for England in the tenth, a double from Norway and nine count from Ava and onto a decider 229-205.
Game three started with double for Norway then two opens followed by a good recovery with a turkey but Ava seeing her chance fired a spare and six pack before a split open a 195 in the eighth. Norway adding another for four in a row to close in on Ava who bounced back with a strike in the ninth but so did Madelen. Ava with a massive double into the tenth frame  and matched by Norway. Seven count for Ava and door opened for Norway who doubled. Both could max out at 242. Two pins for Ava and 241, Nine count for Norway and another tie.  Both striking in the first frame, Eight count for Ava and Nine count for Madelen and a loss 2-1 sadly by great effort from Ava.
Quarter finals
The brave effort of Ava could only inspire Chloe in the quarterfinal match against the top seed singles Gold winner Saga Johansson from Sweden. One match away from a Bronze but another big ask of our young lioness.
And so it proved with a tough match in game one as the Swede was giving no quarter and spare and fourbagger as Chloe Struck split opened spared struck and spared. A split open in the sixth and this game was about finding a shot for game two as Saga spared in the sixth. Chloe hitting two nine spares as Sweden spared struck then opened in the ninth as did Chloe and 53 pins behind. Strike and spare for Chloe and 160 as Saga Johansson hit a spare and strike for 213.
Game 2 and the Sweden off with a strike then an open and Chloe spared and struck. The Sweden opened again in the third but so did Chloe with a split then a frame late a single pin miss as Sweden spared. Work to do to stay in this one and Chloe digging deep with a strike in the fifth frame and Sweden a split open. Game on and Chloe was right back in this but unable to double with a six spare as sweden split but spared and Chloe 16 pin lead in the fifth. Strike for Sweden in the sixth the spare and strike to the ninth, Chloe with a spare double then split in the tenth for 167 as Saga doubled and spared for 167 and our third tie of the day.  This could go on for a while as both hit a turkey and could not be separated.  Nine then for Chloe and 8 for Saga and match all level.
After game one it did not look like we were going to game three but a fighter in Chloe and shakey Swede and here were were with the stars lining up for Chloe with the boost she needed at this point. She could beat the top seed here and win a medal. A strike and two opens put a dent in these hopes early on as Sweden spared twice and struck then doubled and Chloe was chasing with a spare in the fourth frame. Saga Johansson with confidence back and hitting four in a row as Chloe could ony spare again in the fifth and sixth. Chloe back on strike in the seventh but Sweden hitting five in a row. A split in the eighth for Sweden and spare from Chloe but looking like the end of the EYC road for our young star. A strike in the ninth for Chloe and playing for pride at the end. 1-2 to Sweden and Chloe with 162 and Saga with 223.
