Stop 5 of the BTBA Tenpintour 2025 took place at Hollywood Poole on 28 & 29 June 2025.  A total of 81 senior bowlers, comprising 61 men and 20 women took place in this months competition.

Men – Mark Thompson – won his first Tenpintour event at Poole, averaging 217 with a High Game of 259.  The men certainly lit up the scoreboard this weekend, (as they so frequently do!), and this month’s champion was not shy himself, with games of 259, 209,  257 and 245 in his winning 1,301 scr / +162 hcap = 1,463 / 217 avg.  In 2nd was Stephen Bose with games including 244, 236, 258 and 202 in his 1,317 / +120 = 1,437 / 220 set, and 3rd saw Alan Meades with the tied High Game of 269 in game 6 in his 1,368 / +66 = 1,434 / 228 avg set which included games of 223, 247, 214, 232 & 269.  4th was  Peter Sampson with1,223 / +204 = 1,427 / 204 including games of 244, 213 and 226 and 5th was Cliff Greaves with 1,285 / + 138 = 1,423 / 214, including games of 205, 259, 227 and 256.

It’s hard to pick-out other notable mentions from the rich results card, but Chris West had a complete set of honour scores with 248, 201, 235, 225, 226 and 209 in his 8th lace finish, Mark Roberts the same with 215, 232, 216, 222, 224 and 269 for 10th place and perhaps Robert Strong who also matched the High Game of 269 in game 4.

Women – Lynn Squibb – took her seventh victory at Poole, averaging 207 with a High Game of 226, in her set which comprised 4 honour scores for a total 1,242 scr / +90 hcap. = 1,332 / 207 avg.  Lynn had games of 226, 223, 224 and 213 in her winning total!  2nd place went to Val Hopcraft with 1,019 /+210 = 1,229 / 170 and 3rd place went to Carol Brock, who included an honour scores in game 6 of 222 in her 1,100 / +114 = 1,214 / 183 total.  4th saw Jodie Law with 932 / +270 = 1,202 / 155 and 5th Sheila Ashton with 942 / +157 = 1,182 / 157.
