The ESBT is the English Sports Bowling Tour and after a successful 1st season it will be running again in 2018. Some dates, venues and rules have been/will be changed but all will be revealed. This  tour is not necessarily a scratch tour but a tour to try a promote bowling as a sport, using sport compliant patterns that people would play on abroad or when they wear an England Shirt. This has been set up not only to help bowlers get better, but also to compete at the highest level in England, win prize money and entries to tournaments abroad, and help get a better understanding of sport patterns. This will then help them if they come to take part in the Team England trials to then go on to represent England. At the end of the season the top 16 in the rankings will qualify for the masters finals.

In the first season we had 66 members sign up with an average of 49 bowlers per event. In 2017 over £21k worth of prize fund was paid out, as well as  multiple entries and re-entries to tournaments abroad. Storm also donated a fantastic all expenses paid trip to Las Vegas, complete with a  tour of the Storm Factory, a lesson, a ball and an entry to the TAT in Las Vegas.

This next season, we hope to get more members sign up and make this a prestigious tour. We are currently talking to tournaments abroad for sponsorship and hopefully gain some company sponsorship in England. The dates/ venues for next year are as follows:

27/28 Jan – Stroud
3/4 March – Poole
14/15 April – Shipley
12/13 May – Farnborough
9/10 June – Mansfield
28-30 Sep – English Open, Stroud

17/18 Nov – Airport/Poole TBC, Stop 7 and the Masters.

We have the 2017 Masters Final at Chesterfield on the 10th December, with live streaming by Dom Gall and newly crowned PBA Shark Champion Richard Teece will be helping him out and making the presentation on behalf of Storm. After this the registration for the new season will open up on the website and squads open for the first couple events of the season. Check out the sport bowling page at www.sportbowling.uk.
