The tournament consists of three events: Singles, Doubles and Teams with 3 games bowled in each event, it is not required to enter all 3 events however to qualify for the overall All Events winner all three events must be entered.
Nationals Records 2023 onwards (average divisions and YB Tour Age groups)
In 2023 average based divisions were introduced at the Youth Nationals to better reflect the ability of the athlete. In 2025 age divisions for singles and all events were added to match those used on the YB Tour Ranking system.

Divisions
Bowlers are split into divisions based on their entering average. For Singles and All Events there are separate divisions. For all other events the division can comprise of single or mixed gender.
In addition there will be age based divisions for Singles and All Events. The age divisions will be aligned to the Youth Bowling Aspirations Tour Age Divisions: U10, U13, U16, U19, U22
