BTBA Archive: Grau & McCulley Win BTBA Tenpintour 2025 Stop 8 Dunstable

Note:  The Tenpintour is a Seniors tour with handicap scores.  Total Scores/Total Pinfalls quoted below are inclusive of handicap, however the averages are tournament averages and are scratch.

Stop 8 of the BTBA Tenpintour 2025 took place at GOBowling Dunstable on 27 and 28 September 2025.  A total of 96 senior bowlers, comprising 67 men and 29 women took place in this months competition.

Men – Harald Grau – returns to the winners circle once again, in 1st with his 4th Tenpintour win and a 1,394 scr. + 192 hcap tournament total of 1,586, which included 4 honour games of 226 and above and additionally an ‘oh-so close’ 279 in game 6!  2nd place saw Phillip Long include 4 honour scores over 233 for his 1,242 + 294 = 1,536 total and 3rd place went to Martin Williamson who also had 4 honour scores, including a 257 game 2, in his 1,265 + 204 = 1,469 total.  4th went to Ian Buckland with 1,231 + 228 =1,459 and 5th to James Wofford with 1,193 + 264 = 1,457.

Men’s High Game went to Alan Meades, who waited until game 6 before shining brightly with a 290 game.  Congratulations Alan!

Women – Gaye McCulley – also returns to the winners circle, but this time for an impressive 6th time, with 4 Honour games of 216 or above and the women’s high game of 258 in game 4.  Congratulations!  Gaye’s 1st place total was 1,314 scr + 0 hcp = 1,314 tournament score.  In 2nd was Carole Orange with games including 203 and 221 in her 1,129 +144 = 1,273 total and in 3rd place was Manel Hannan with her 987 + 282 = 1,269 total.  4th place was Liz Griffin with 1,086 + 180 = 1,266 and a 200 game 5 and 5th was Linda Pray, who included a pair of honour scores, 220 and 215 in her 1,092 +168 = 1,260 total.
