Alan Keddie wins his fifth and Julie Johansson her second Tenpintour Titles at the Airport
72 men and 24 women travelled to The Airport Bowl, Harlington to compete in Stop 4 of the 2023 BTBA Tenpint. With some skilled and high scoring it was Alan Keddie who would emerge winner for the men and Julie Johnssen winner for the women.
Men: Leading the ‘dizzying’ scoring for the men, Alan bowled games of 257, 265, 236, 290, 248 and 269 for has 1565 scratch / 1619 handicap / 269.8 avg. totals. The 290 game 4 was also the highest men’s game as well as the highest game for the stop. The men’s scoreboard is once again ‘lit up’ with honour scores, and a growing number of ‘super-honour scores’ above 249. 2nd place saw Chris Smith with 1283 scratch / 1583 h’cap / 261 avg. and 3rd place Ray Lay with 1256 / 1508 / 214 avg. The top-12 male athletes all posted honour score averages for their sets and a total 26 of the men also posed 200+ averages.
Women: Julie Johansson led the women with games of 213 and 234 in her hard-won 1163 / 1349 / 194 avg. winning score, over Val Hopcraft 2nd with 1072 / 1270 / 179 avg. and Sally Spence 3rd with 1134 / 1270 / 189 avg. Liz Griffin bowled the women’s high game coming out the gate with a 235 game 1 in her 1080 / 1260 / 180 avg. set which saw her in 4th. 12 athletes all posted totals of 1200 or above.
