2020 Adult Inter-County Championships Cancelled

It is with great regret that I need to announce that the Adult Counties for 2020 is to be cancelled.

There are a number of factors for this which include: at this time there is no definite date of when bowling centres will be open, when they do open holding a 5 person team event will be highly unlikely, due to more than 2 households on a pair and the travel involved and some counties have not been able to hold their trials yet.

This decision has not been made lightly, as many of you know the counties is very close to my heart and I have been looking at all the options for running this prestigious event in a safe way for the members, but unfortunately 2020 will be a blank on the county trophies.

For those counties that have paid entry fees for the cancelled championships these will be refunded. Can I ask that counties email me – jocundy@btba.org.uk – in regards to claiming your refund.

Counties that have included an ‘entry fee’ during their trials that solely relates to a cancelled ICC event, this should be refunded to the individual unless they state otherwise. Any admin fee for the trials can be deducted as relevant. But please note, for obvious reasons, that Lineage for games played in the trials cannot be returned.

I am still holding a County Think Tank later in the year and I will be in touch with county secretaries with more information.

Take care, stay safe and see you all in a bowling centre soon.
