U15 Inter Counties Results

Last weekend was a busy one on the tenpin bowling calendar, with the European Women’s Championships in Brussels and USA defeating Europe in the Weber Cup in Milton Keynes, as well as many home favourites away bowling in the Malta Open. Closer to home, the U15 Inter Counties was contested at Airport Bowl, Middlesex with 15 different counties taking part in the annual 4-person team event.

There were some great performances, with highlights including a massive 225 average by Ben Tull of Hampshire including a 298 high game, just beating out Ronnie Russell of Warwickshire with a 224.2 average. In the Girls division, Jenny Grace of Lincolnshire came out top average with a fantastic 200.4, with Kara Zucca of Warwickshire taking the high game with a brilliant 246 in her final game.

Overall, it was Sussex who ran out winners in the Boys division, defeating Yorkshire 776 to 733. Surrey took third place, defeating Warwickshire 716 to 654 in the bronze medal match. In the Girls division, it was Essex who were victorious, defeating Lincolnshire 708 to 639.

Thank you to Tournament Director, Emma Ashton for her efforts organising the event and thank you to Airport Bowl for hosting. Congratulations to all bowlers!
