BTBA Chairman to Step Down – Applications Welcomed

BTBA Chairman Lisa John writes:

“After much consideration, I have decided that I will be standing down as Chairman at this year’s BTBA AGM.  There are many reasons for this but the main one is of a personal nature.  I have struggled with my mental health since I was a teenager.  Following events in my life over the last year, my mental health has been particularly bad in the last few months.  I have therefore taken the decision to step back from this position which carries great responsibility as I do not feel I can give it the focus and attention that it needs.  I intend to spend time striving to get better so that I can, one day, be able to give back as much as possible to the sport that has given me so much.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Chairman and helping the Association move forward.  This is my 4th year as Chairman and I know that we have made huge strides forward in that period.  Things haven’t always been easy and we haven’t always got things right, but what we have done is given it our all every step of the way.  I want to take this opportunity to thank the National council for their support and work over the last 4 years, it has not gone unnoticed and we should all be very proud of what we have achieved together.

“With my resignation in mind, we are now seeking a new chairman to take over the reins following this year’s AGM.  I would therefore like to ask anyone who may be interested in the position to submit their CV to admin@btba.org.uk with a paragraph detailing why you would like the position and what you can bring to the National Council.

”If anyone has any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me personally at lisajohn@btba.org.uk.

“Thank you.”
