Our female athletes finally got started on Friday with the Grand senior singles in the afternoon and a six game race for the top four places. It was to be some pain but some joy also as Angie Brown qualified in 3rd place with 1022 for Tuedays singles finals. Not so great for our other three as they missed out on advancing.

Lol keeping up the pace to land in second with 1211 and mike in third with 1210 but sadly Kim dropping out of the four in the last game and ending in 6th with 1185. Geoff improving every game but ending in 20th with 1068.
Senior Men’s Singles
In the first of two squads of Saturday, it was Ian Hollands and Alan Meades to start. This squad should serve a lesson to ALL team England bowlers on how to make a comeback after opening with a 148 in a World Championship.
Ian opened with such a game and then proceeded to fire 257,212,221,224 and ending with a fine 270 for 1332 and second place. Alan started well and challenging for the top four after three games but tailed away towards the end to place 10th.
It was time to unleash the beast and lobbers in the Senior Men’s Singles for the last squad of the day and both Paul and Colin fought bravely but did not advance as Paul placed 35th after the two squads and Colin in 36th. Great news though and Ian taking fourth place and advancing to Tuesday’s final.
