David Crouch had his 2nd win in the Tenpintour at Stop 8, Airport, bowling 1280 scratch / 1550 handicap / 213 scratch average, leading 2nd placed Darren Knightsbridge by 22 pins (1390 / 1528 / 232) and 3rd placed Kevin Pilley by 45 pins (1379 / 1505 / 230). Other athletes who complete the event with 200+ averages and made the top-10 included Andrew Tapping 219, Robert Steward 203, Mark Wills 209 and David Bristow 210. An extra mention also to Mark Wills for the men’s high game of 270 in game 4. A total of 67 men bowled the stop.
Of the 25 women who entered, Lynn Gammage was left smiling as she won her first Tenpintour event in the women’s division with 1151 scratch / 1331 handicap / 192 average. In 2nd was Elaine Davey (1094 / 1292 / 182) and 3rd Sally Spence (1152 / 1266 / 192). Just 3 pins behind Sally was Gaye McCully with 1263, but recording both the women’s high game of 257 in game 5 and the only women’s 200+ game, with 207.
