Gary Baker wins his first and Diane Johnson her second Tenpintour Titles at Stroud

59 men and 24 women travelled to Stroud Bowl in Merrywalks Centre to compete in Stop 6 of the 2023 Tenpin Tour. The Tour Stop saw Gary Baker and Diane Johnson victorious.
Men: Gary Baker took his opening 188 game as read and dug deeper with the following 5 200-m including the high game of 279 in his 1580 total to take the men’s honour’s with 1580 (1418 scratch). In 2nd Mark Wills too had moments of brilliance in his 1531 with games including 255, 224 & 226. 3rd placed Stuart Rushton hd a slightly more tricky 1473 but still included games of 244, 229 and 238. As ever the men had a ‘score-fest’ with many 200+ games and 6 200+ finishing tournament averages among the top10 men.
Women: The women had their share of 200+ games, with winner Diane Johnson opening with 222, and adding a 200 and the women’s high game 237 in her1338. 2nd placed Julie Johanssen had games of 234 and 224 in her second placed 1318 and in 3rd place with 1294 was Julie Gammage, Other good opening games included Carole Orange 224 in her 1285 total, Angie Brown 231 / 1271 and Marsha Dalley 225 / 1232 and Anna Yang 203 / 1168. Some late flourishes in game 6 helped Carole (233) to 4th , Marsha (205) to 6th and Catherine Wills (211) to 8th. For Lynn Squibb her Game 5 223 helped her to 1173.
