Rob Yandell wins his first and Jan Hodge her fouth Tenpintour Titles at the Cliftonville

40 men and 12 women travelled to Bugsy’s Cliftonville in Margate to compete in Stop 5 of the 2023 Tenpin Tour. The Tour saw another first-time men’s winner in Robert Yandell and a fourth win for England legend Jan Hodge.
Men: Robert included games of 212 and 206 in his winning 1470 total, over Stuart Rushton in second, who ‘book-ended’ his set with an opening 202 and the shared high men’s score of 279 in his 1457 total. The other high men’s score of 279 was by Steve Thornton, who set pulses rising early in his opening game of his 1370 set, settling for 10th. Tied in third place would be Daren Knightbridge and Kevin Rose with 1440 each, Daren with five 200+ games of 223/202/235/230 & 237 and Kevin with games of 216 & 219. In an event which saw many games over 200 we also mention Steve Norris who included games of 202/216/213/225 and 213 in his1422 series, and 5th place. Other notable scores included a 257 for Alan Meades in 6th.
Women: The women were headed by the eventual division winner as Jan opened with the women’s high game 269 in her 1315 set which included games of 293 and 201. Second was Tina Taylor with 1272, third was Julie MacInnes with 1248 and fourth Denise Dyke with 1202 and an opening 200 game. Mention also to Kim Oakley who scored the only other 200+ games with her fourth game 204, in her 1077 for 8th.
