Rounds 4 & 5 of Senior Team England Qualifying 2023 took place at Acocks Green Bowl During April 2023.
Steve Thornton took just shy of full points at Acocks Green in Rounds 4 & 5, taking an impressive 39 points from the total of 40 available, to lead the men’s Rankings with 97 from the 100 available points! Alan Meades gained one place to 2nd with 78 points after adding 36 more and Colin Grose also gained one place, up-to 3rd with 34 points added to his now 75 points total. Matthew Trotter took a two place drop to 4th after completing just Round 4 for a further 11 points to give him a total of 59, and Neil Highgate moved to 5th after 18 points from Round 4 took his total to 55.
Carole Orange didn’t bowl Rounds 4 or 5, and saw herself drop to 8th, but Gaye McCully did bowl, and added to full-points for Rounds 4 & 5, taking her lead at the top of the women’s table to 89 points, with Angie Brown also solid in 2nd place with an additional 37 points lifting her total also to 89. Teresa McCarthy maintained her 3rd place adding 28 points to her total of 79 and Sandra Simmonds improved by 3 to 4th place adding 36 points to her total of 80 and Diane Johnson moved from 9th to 5th with an additional 33 points added to her total of 74.

Round 3 of Senior Team England Qualifying 2023 took place at Guildford Spectrum during March 2023 as part of the 6th BTBA Senior National Championships.
Following the Senior Nationals, Steve Thornton collected the maximum 20 points to lead Senior Men qualifying with 58 points over Matthew Trotter 2nd adding 15 points to his 48 total and Alan Meades 3rd with an additional 10 points to take his qualifying total to 42. 4th is Colin Grose adding 16 to his total of 41 and 5th Chris West adding 18 to his total of 38.
For the Senior Women, Carole Orange added 19 points to take her leading qualifying total after 43 events to 53 over Angie Brown, who’s 13 points took her to a 53 total and 2nd, while Teresa McCarthy took 3rd with 51 points after adding 15 more at Guidford. 4th was Kim Oakley adding 16 to her 50 total and Gaye McCully who added the coveted 20 points maximum to take her total to 49.
