Qualifying Round Group Round Scramble Round

83 youth athletes from  took part bowling six games in qualifying with handicap, cutting to the top-30 athletes who progressed to Round 2 and onwards.  In qualifying, the top-3 males saw Brandon Garthwaite finish top with 1557 over Tom Cummings 2nd with 1511 and Ben Marston 3rd with 1501.  Harriette Bowes was leading female with 1455 over Hanna Crowe 2nd with 1449 and Olivia Rogers 3rd with 1430.

Round 2 would see these 30 athletes bowl at trios pace for a further 2 games in the Group Round, from which the winning and runner-up athletes on pinfall would compete in a ‘Scramble Round’ – four further games during which the low bowler in each group was eliminated after each of the successive games, to leave the winners in each group.  Ben Needham and Harrison O’Donnell were eliminated in game 1, Harrison Williams and Johnathan Malloy in game 2, Jack Blyth and Jake McNamara in game 3 and Jolan Byrom and Chloe Birch in game 4, leaving Kieran Lunn from Scramble Group 1 and Chloe Steel from Scramble Group 2 to meet in the final, in which Kieran Lunn would emerge as the Yorkshire Handicap Singles 2023 winner after defeating Chloe 296 – 191.
