We are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hebert as the new Chair of the NAYBC.

A BTBA lead development coach, Simon has worked closely with the BTBA National Academy this year, and has also been a committee member of the Kent Bowling Association since 2015, taking responsibility for junior bowling in Kent.

Simon said, “The role of NAYBC Chair is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our sport and to inspire the next generation of bowlers. I am looking forward to implementing a plan to drive the NAYBC forward, including working to help YBCs develop their own club improvement plans using tools available from Club Matters.

Bowling is a huge mass participation activity, but is not widely recognised as a sport. The schools programme from BTBA Coaching is a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of the sport, and this is something that I am keen for the NAYBC to support and help promote.”

Terry Searle, BTBA Director of Sport Development commented, “I am delighted to welcome Simon to the BTBA National Council. He has a wealth of experience through volunteering in the sport and his day job as a business analyst is sure to help him bring the best value possible to the NAYBC.”

The BTBA would also like to announce that Helen Tamblyn-Saville has been appointed to the Executive Council. She will now assume the role of Head of Communications & PR.

We hope that members will support both Simon and Helen in their new roles.
