As we embark on a new year, the Executive Council have decided that the time is right to realign the Team England Management team back within Sport Development under Terry Searle. The decision to move Team England under the Office of the Chairman was taken two years ago to spread out the workload while we were going through some of the more complicated and time-consuming aspects of the Head Office restructuring program. We feel that sufficient progress has been made in both this and the new Coaching and development programs that we should now combine the coaching and the management of Team England under one roof.
To this end we are pleased to announce that with immediate effect Andy Penny will assume the role of Team England Head Coach and will report directly to the Executive council through Terry Searle, the Director of Sport Development.
Andy’s first responsibility will be the development of a new Team England Management Committee consisting of Team Managers & Coaches. This committee will jointly establish the direction and strategies for our participation in international events. Andy will also be establishing a pool of our very best coaches that will become the Team England National Coaching squad.
As a result, with the exception of the EYC team, all existing Team England Management and Coaching positions will come to an end on January 31st 2018. Job descriptions and application forms are available on the BTBA website now and will be open until Monday February 5th. Wherever possible new appointments will be made with effect from March 1st. Application to be part of the National Coaching Squad can be made at any time by contacting Andy Penny directly.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jo Cundy for her tireless commitment to Elite Bowling and Team England over many years and we look forward to announcing her new responsibilities within the National Council in the near future.
